Good? [He sounds a bit hopeful, but still, his voice does drop just a bit with concern as he carries on.]
Mm, is there any reason why your first suggestion is always having to do with cutting something off, Yasusada-kun? I know that we're swords, but even so... [EVEN SO!! That does not mean that they cannot have some chill, wtf ー from the looks of Horikawa though, at least it looks like he's intending the words more as a joke than something serious as he takes another bite of the noodles.]

It was good, I know what it tastes like and I think it's one of my favorites. [ He leans back just a bit before looking back at the male's plate. The chicken and broccoli both look really good. ] Mine's was a bit hotter, maybe you can put some in it? Of what I had.
no subject
For now, he'll look back down to the pasta with a curious expression.]
Hot, huh? Hmm, what was it that you put on anyway, Yasusada-kun? Should I fetch it for you to put on your broccoli later?
no subject
Hm? No, no! This is your food! I'll eat it the way you have it. You shouldn't let me eat all your broccoli, Horikawa Kunihiro. I thought that we had to eat our vegetables to grow big and strong?
[ Though, that's something that's always been told to Izumi. ]

[Because he's had another few bites, including some broccoli, and now he has another piece on the end of his fork. It feels way too strange (and kind of rude) for him to eat all on his own, especially when the one to share this meal is right next to him. He won't let the simple action interrupt his thoughts though, instead considering their topic a little before replying (and ensuring that it looks like Yamato is going to eat his vegetables).
After all, at this point it isn't as if Horikawa necessarily needs what this sort of food has to offer him anyway.]
Anyway, there's a lot more to you than just that, Yasusada-kun. For example, you seem to have taken quite a liking to all the new people we've met here. I think that makes you very charismatic, don't you?
no subject
Hmm? [ He doesn't speak because he doesn't want to be rude and he even makes sure to lick his lips before removing his hand. ] Our housemates? [ He nods as he looks at the other. ] Well I mean, Mikleo is rather kind and someone who understands us in a sense. There's other people that I've met... our Saniwa.. other people.
[ A pause. ]
Charismatic? Maybe you're speaking about yourself too!
no subject
He does, doesn't he? It's really interesting, we're all from different places ー though, Hinata-kun is from the future Japan, isn't he? [At least, that's what Horikawa had assumed. The charisma comment makes him laugh a little, because he doesn't really think of himself as such compared to someone like Kanesada, (though he'll certainly try to reach those heights,) but it's a bit flattering to hear it from somebody as straightforward and honest as Yamato. Still, he shakes his head in an act of modesty.]
I'm not really sure about that, Yasusada-kun. I just do my best to make sure that everybody is taken care of, but in the end, you're the one who brings them here.
no subject
[ Though, there's not much concern as the saniwa looking for their swords as compared to how much Yamato wants to go back home. ] Hm, even if he's from the future maybe he can teach you a few things. I'm sure you'd catch on more than me. I think the weird machine in the kitchen, the "microwave" always baffles me? Everything has a certain number, one day I'll understand.
[ He quickly shakes his head though at the male's words. ] Listen to yourself right now and tell me if that isn't charisma. You're taking care of everyone I bring in, besides, you're the one who found this place right? You're why they even have a home.

[Honestly, tbh, to be honest, Horikawa just heats everything up in the stove. Their appliances are pretty basic, and maybe the people who lived here were the Vandare-native type who have the same dread of technology that somebody's old grandpa probably does in those "texting is ruining communication" comics. Horikawa's only about as good at technology as that too, but getting better, he'll do his best! He seems super surprised at Yamato's last comment though.]
Eh? Do you really think so? [A long HMMM.] I would think that's more like being "responsible", and it's really only because I'm so used to taking care of Kane-san, but I'm glad if I can be of help somehow.
[He means it, because his face positively lights up with a grin as he reaches that conclusion.]

[ He's broken many things in her household just because he was there and even sometimes he's not allowed to go near certain things. ] Maybe we should buy one, I don't know why it has so many numbers but I'm sure we could learn together on it.
[ Being responsible? When will Horikawa not play these games. ] Hardworking.. caring.. charismatic.. honest and helpful.. a lot of things fall back to you.
i already had this icon? who knew
I suppose you're right though, it's why we still need to try to go back, I suppose... [It's a little begrudging; at this rate, he really does want to live up to Hijikata's words and find a way to stay alongside him. As for the microwave:] It might be best to learn to work one before we bring it home, though. It would be a shame to waste the money if we were to damage it from improper use.
ugh thats cute wtf came prepared
[ He smiles to him as he can't help but wonder what makes him so shocked from his words? Honestly, it's the truth? Horikawa does have all those things listed, he deserves to her them and there's more that could have been spoken by Yamato but maybe he should free the male just for now. ] You should think about yourself sometimes and those qualities about you, it'd be best and maybe you'd feel a little lighter.
[ Placing his hands into his lap, he looks back down at the place ] It would be best that way, to go back home. [ Following with a nod. ] Do you think Vietnam would allow us to use hers for awhile.. maybe I could stay there to learn. Hmm.
ugh i gotta but how dare you embarrass hori like this
[Really! A miracle! Amazing! And right alongside a mundane conversation about microwaves and their breakability too, which is equally incredible. Just watch as these dumbasses surpass all expectations on that front, too.]
I wonder, she's very generous about those kinds of things, but after what you did to her TV she may be hesitant. Do you think that Master and Okita-san have one as well?
im not even embarrassing him wtf :/
[ The way Horikawa speaks does surprise Yamato at times, glancing at the other's phrases and titles. Looking down at his hands as he messes with the fabric of his hakama. ]
Master now, is it? [ Yamato knows good and well of who he's speaking about. ] Well, anyway, I'm sure both Vice Commander and Okita-kun have one. They've been here for a long time, right?
you know full well what youre doing
Though, getting called up on that slip-up probably causes him to bristle a little more than it should. (For the shift, he's still aware of the Saniwa's importance, but...)]
It... doesn't feel right to say "previous" when he's here, don't you think. Besides, he does have my vessel, after all... [It's understandable, right? It just feels strange not to call Hijikata as such, for him.] They have though, so maybe we can try to use the one there?
im not doing anything :Q
I don't understand? Even back home, he was there, in a sense, it's just that we couldn't interfere and even then he had your vessel but you called him.. [ Emphasis to the "previous" as he blinks just a bit at the other's actions. ] Hm.. [ A pause as he nods. ] You should use it? Maybe I can use something else and then we can teach each other? How does that sound?
how dare you slob
[He trails off with that. Honestly, Yamato is just trying to make a struggle for Horikawa. He had used the name only because it felt so natural to him, but now he's wondering if he should go back to making sure to correct himself, as he needed to do in the past. Because, even then, he had almost made the same slip. The thought that he's being scolded or similar for such an action causes a feeling of guilt to bubble up.]
That... sounds good. I'll try to find an opportunity to see then, alright?
why cant i slob ewtf
[ There's no need to be distressed, the uchigatana gives a small laugh as he leans over a bit to knock at the other's shoulders. It's not like what he said was a bad thing, Yamato was only curious and it's why he even spoke up. ] I'm sorry for that, I was just wanting to know why? [ He never changed what he called Souji during the past and the present, so he wanted to know what made Horikawa do the same. ]
I think you'll figure it out soon so when you do, you'll tell me right?
[ A nod as he finally decides to get up, dusting off his haori from roof dust. ]
Then what do you think I should look for? For when we trade knowledge.
:Q
[Though, while he says as much he understands that it isn't a possibility that's available to them. Not so long as their goals are what Yamato says they are; they are needed at the citadel, valued, and it's the timeline and world in which they belong. Something is wrong with this place, and so much as Horikawa wants to treasure every moment that he can spend alongside the master that he loved (and has continued to love, even as time passes,) he does so knowing fully that it can't last. In any case, he shakes his head to the topic at hand.]
I suppose so, if you insist Yasusada-kun. [The conclusion that he's becoming dangerously close to is that he simply needs to return to correcting himself, but maybe he'll give it some more thought. The last question surprises him a little though.] You mean, when we report to them?
why does hori slob now
[ Looking down at the plate is where Yamato decides to take it and then picking up the spoon to stab at the pieces of chicken still sitting. Taking a bite, he hums just a little confused. ]
Hm? Oh, we can do it then, if you want. What other devices do you think that Vice Commander probably has?
because its a cute face :Q_
[For Horikawa, he had always been the one who needed to be talked out of this sort of feeling to begin with, and even now he only has the gentle disagreements of Yamato to snap him out of his natural inclinations, rather than the strict scoldings that Kanesada would use to remind him of their tasks. He can't help the love that he has for his master, but he does his best to ensure that he keeps in mind what they're supposed to be doing, and nothing that would make either his master or his partner ashamed of him.]
It would be nice, I think. That's all...
[There's a moment of quiet, and then:]
I suppose he would have all of the normal things? A TV, a fridge, hmm... I've never given it much thought, actually.
STOP Slobbing!!!!111
When you say it like that.. who knew this place could be ideal for some. [ Coming closer towards the edge of the room and then turning rather quickly although a little sloppy as he has to make sure that he doesn't fall over. ] But I've always dreamed of a place to be — to be closer. [ Pointing one finger up at the sky as he nods. ]
Aah, I'm sure we could find some other things. Maybe in a couple of days, I'm not too fond of showing myself until later. But, I do want to go to her home to learn these new things.
YOU CANT MAKE ME :Q____
[It's just that... if he has another chance to meet Hijikata, to be alongside him, of course he would see that as something valuable. Guilt turns in his stomach because he knows that it isn't something which he should be allowing himself to have at all, knowing how time passes; after a human dies, it should be impossible to see them again. But in the first place, the time he had spent with his master had seemed so short already - he wasn't even allowed to stay with the Hijikata family, as Kanesada had been. He can feel his shoulders slump, and shakes his head.]
Sorry, that was dumb of me to say. I know better than that. [And a glance back up to Yamato, observing his balancing act.]
Be careful Yasusada-kun. Though, I'm sure that it's fine. Maybe if we look around, we can find more appliances from this time at a discount? You could learn about them that way.
PUTS PAPER IN YOUR MOUTH TO SOAK UP SLOB :O
So you shouldn't call it dumb. [ What do other people call this, an opportunity? A chance? ]
Huh? The stars sure are sparkly, I really like them. [ Was that a little slip? He's alright, he didn't fall off just yet but he claps his hands happily. ]
I'm only learning to show you. I'm no good at taking in new things. You get a hold of them faster than me.
:O perhaps i have been stoppd
[Something in his voice is still doubtful. After all, how could he not feel guilty to have such a thing stated so straightforwardly? Even Yamato's insistences that there's nothing to criticize do little to reassure him when it seems, blatantly, his feelings have contradicted what he knows is responsible, and what needs to be done ー even if it's only Yamato this time, perhaps Horikawa needs to be more careful of that matter in the future... He averts his eyes though, leaving that subject as it is.]
Anyway, come here. [Because he's speared another piece of broccoli, and he's holding it out expectantly in his attempt to draw Yamato back away from the edge.] Just because it's difficult doesn't mean that it isn't worth doing. I'll help you if you have trouble, okay?
you have been stopped :O
ugh idr what we were talking about but this is so weird :?
I DONT KNOW its just that i should stop you?
